25 Random Things About Me

This is going here too, so that the day I delete my FB profile(and that day is coming soon, yes I can live without FB!!), I can still have my set of 25 things.

1. I love chai- I usually experiment with different flavors everyday including cardamom, pepper, ginger and samahan (which is btw, awesome if you have a cold). Unfortunately, my room mate does not share my sentiments about experimenting with tea.
2.When I was a kid I used to idolize Enid Blyton's heros- especially in the Mystery series (now you know why I've turned out the way I have!). I used to try to disguise myself as ragpickers and solve "mysteries". Usually, it would end with getting yelled at by my mom for dragging her dupattas through the mud and dirtying my nails.
3. I have a sweet tooth. I need something sweet after every meal. If I can't find anything, I just eat a little sugar.
4. I cook when I'm stressed out. I just love cooking. Its my way of unwinding and I have unlimited enthusiasm when it comes to cooking, and most of the time I end up cooking too much.
5. When I was in my second year of college, I teamed up with my cousin and sold cookies for a semester(under the name 'Indulge'). I used to bake four kinds - chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and pinwheel cookies. Unfortunately, the minute someone ordered 5 kgs, I gave up, as it was too tiring and not worth the effort.
6. Apart from English I love speaking French- the fact that I don't get too many opportunities to speak the language is besides the point. I've always wanted to spend some of my life in France, and hopefully, I will get to one day.
7. Filter coffee makes me sleepy. Its perfect after after a South Indian Sunday breakfast when you can go back to sleep.
8. I like dancing - the I-don't-care-if-I-can't-dance-kind.
9. I read the International Herald Tribune thrice a day.
10. My college friends used to say I was like Monica (FRIENDS) because I can be a little enthusiastic and obsessive like her sometimes.
11. My all time favorite dessert is Tiramisu. My second all time favorite dessert is Belgian Waffles & Strawberry Icecream (those of you who read my blog, probably know that already).
12. I'm mad at my dog. He doesn't recognize me anymore and growls at me when I go back home.
13. I like to sleep with one leg crossed and the other stretched out- so if I was standing I would look like a one-legged meditating hermit. And I discovered one other person in the world who sleeps the same way.
14. My all time favorite movie is Good Will Hunting. Don't ask my why. My all time favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird.
15. I love riding bikes - back home its usually the Activa. Its one of those things I miss like crazy about home.
16. I am scared of heights - feel-giddy-and-hold-onto-railing kind.
17. Scrubs(the outfit) are one of God's greatest gifts to mankind. I live in them and they are insanely comfortable.
18. I don't like horror movies as they give me nightmares and I can't sleep for days after I watch them.
19. My left leg is longer than my right leg and this used to make my lower back hurt a lot. Physiotherapy and gymming fixed it.
20. Swimming is the most peaceful activity in the planet. I love swimming.
21. I'm a true Gemini. I think Linda Goodman does a pretty good description of the kind(http://www.cyberspacei.com/englishwiz/library/names/zodiac/gemini.htm).
22. I think programming is insanely cool. I know lots of people would think I'm weird but I still get thrilled when I write a program that works.
23. One of my best vacations was when I visited my friend in Chicago in June 2007. Even though my friend got mad at me at the end of it, I had an awesome time hanging out in the city.
24. My house(in India) is on the bank of a river and everytime it rains we are worried about floods. We did have floods in 2005 and were stuck inside for 2 days without electricity. A duck swam by and my silly dog barked at it so much that he fell into the yucky water.
25. I was one of those kids who collected stamps, post cards and had pen-friends in US, UK and France.
